There were 6 of us travelling together, and we had three days to tour St Petersburg. Olga was the perfect guide in every way. We emailed from Australia to book her services (she was highly recommended from other friends) and we told her what we thought we’d like to see. Olga advised us on what was possible in the time we had, and suggested other stops to enhance our experience. Without her guidance, knowledge and expertise, we wouldn’t have had such a fantastic experience. For example we wouldn’t have seen the incredible Church of the Spilt Blood.
One of our favourite experiences was our visit to the relatively new Faberge Egg Museum. Olga stood us in front of each of the exquisite Eggs and gave us the history and provenance of all nine of them. It was a fascinating Masterclass from a knowledgeable, articulate guide.
The Hermitage is the most extraordinary art collection I’ve ever seen. Olga informed us not only about the art, but the history of the equally incredible buildings that house the collection. Olga showed us the new section, a short walk across an immense square which houses a modern art collection.
