After a friendly e-mail exchange with Olga over a course of two months, we were able to decide on a suitable itinerary for our group of ten. Upon arrival at the cruise terminal in St. Petersburg, we were warmly greeted by Olga, who never ceased to energy and enthusiasm throughout our 2-day tour.
In the comfort of a small van we zipped through the streets with ease, while Olga would give us a very personal and informative introduction to the many places we were to visit. She went deep and detailed into history, and shared memorable anecdotes about key historical figures, injecting much humour along the way! Rather than following a rigid script and routine, she was flexible and sensitive to our needs – she had the good sense to move us through quickly and just focus just on the main highlights at the Hermitage, as our feet were weary and our attention span limited by mid-afternoon on Day 2.
As a small private group, we were also able to bypass the long queues created by the large tours at the popular sites, which saved us a lot of time. Olga was clearly the best tour guide we had during our cruise!
